About The Position
La Quinta Resort & Club is hiring a part-time PBI Tennis Professional to provide high-quality tennis instruction and customer service and help create a superior experience for members and guests. The role teaches a range of tennis programs, including junior programs, lessons, special events, and clinics. The position offers hourly compensation of $18.00–$50.00. PBI/Cliff Drysdale Management operates more than 30 tennis and fitness facilities in the United States and offers opportunities for advancement in tennis and sport management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- USTA NetGeneration Certification is required as a condition of employment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Experience teaching tennis lessons to adults and juniors at various skill levels.
- Basic computer and email skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, outgoing, positive attitude.
- Ability to build positive relationships with members and team members.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and learn quickly.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Thorough knowledge of tennis.
- Effective teaching styles and techniques.
- Ability to read and speak English may be required to perform the job duties.
Nice To Haves
- Tennis skill level equivalent to a minimum 4.0 USTA rating.
Responsibilities
- Provide private and group tennis instruction for players of all ages and levels, from beginning through advanced.
- Develop safe, professional, and comprehensive lessons and programs that support students’ continued involvement in tennis.
- Assist with supervising play and ensure fees are properly charged.
- Teach students tennis rules, scoring procedures, safety rules, and tennis etiquette.
- Enforce club rules and regulations governing use of the club or facility, equipment, and other property.
- Perform racquet stringing.
- Respond promptly and professionally to member and guest questions, comments, and concerns.
- Incorporate safe work practices into job performance.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as required.
