About The Position

The Oak Brook Park District is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Tennis Professional to lead and grow its junior and adult tennis programs while providing exceptional instruction and leadership. The Tennis Professional delivers scheduled group and private lessons, supports player development and engagement, communicates with students and parents, and helps increase program participation and revenue. The Tennis Professional reports directly to the Superintendent of Enterprise Operations, with supervisory assistance from Tennis Directors.

Requirements

Experience as a tennis professional or instructor.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality group and private lessons according to the curriculum, coaching philosophy, coaching principles, junior training system guidelines, adult training pathway, and best-practice guidelines.
Create a social and energetic learning environment in group lessons and take accurate attendance.
Motivate players to enjoy tennis and promote weekly practices, athletic training, in-house competitions, and events.
Assist with coaching teams and running events and tournaments.
Identify students’ next playing levels and guide practices to help them advance their games.
Show student improvement results.
Communicate student progress to students, parents, and Tennis Directors.
Complete student evaluation forms and participate in student and parent meetings.
Support student retention through quality programming.
Increase participation in assigned group and private lessons to help grow programming department revenue.
