About The Position

Under the direction of the Racquet Sports Supervisor provides tennis instruction to participants. The H-F Park District’s mission statement is “to enhance the quality of life through diverse recreational opportunities, facilities and parks while caring for the environment”.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a complete knowledge of the game of tennis and have the ability to demonstrate all related strokes and strategy.
  • CPR/AED Certified.
  • Knowledge of USTA Rules.
  • Demonstrate willingness to become certified Pro.
  • STANDING: Extensive - almost 100%
  • SITTING: Minimal (off court)
  • WALKING: Extensive
  • LIFTING: Minimal - Boxes of balls/supplies
  • STOOPING: Extensive - Hitting low shots/picking up balls
  • REACHING: Extensive - Demonstrate strokes
  • CLIMBING: Minimal - Boxes of balls/supplies

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service to our internal and external guests by providing friendly, responsive, courteous and helpful service.
  • Report directly to the Racquet Sports Supervisor.
  • Keep accurate records on all classes.
  • Responsible for all supplies issued by the Park District.
  • Conduct a safe and educational program.
  • Develop a lesson plan for the programs.
  • Keep Racquet Sports Supervisor informed of progress of students.
  • Be cooperative and develop a good relationship with the public.
  • Solicit comments, suggestions and recommendations from the students and relay them accordingly.
  • Attend educational seminars to upgrade teaching knowledge and skill.
  • Assist in promoting all Park District programs.
  • Enforce all rules and regulations within the club as set forth by the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District board in a tactful manner.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety Manual, Policy and Procedures Handbook and Employee Manual.
  • Other related job duties as assigned.
