About The Position

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Fiber Lead to support the Army TEN-M program. This remote role requires the employee to live within 50 miles of a major airport and travel 25%–50% of the time. The Fiber Lead conducts comprehensive site surveys, creates fiber- and wireless-focused network designs, and prepares technical documentation to meet Department of War (DoW) guidelines and industry standards. The role directs end-to-end deployment activities, including fiber construction, wireless network integration with Ericsson, Nokia, and other OEMs, and validation testing of optical transport systems such as DWDM and ROADM. The lead manages subcontractor teams and ensures installation, integration, and testing meet project performance, quality, and compliance requirements. The position also develops deployment and testing plans, oversees site surveys and OTDR testing, designs fiber networks using tools such as Vetro and ArcGIS, integrates fiber backhaul with private 5G wireless nodes, and verifies performance across transport layers. It includes developing a Test Network Modernization Plan, a Life-Cycle Plan, and an Acceptance Test Plan for deployed fiber, optical, and wireless technologies.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in fiber network engineering, deployment, wireless integration, or related telecommunications fields.
  • Experience deploying cellular networks for Tier-1 carriers, the DoD, or comparable large-scale telecommunications customers.
