About The Position

Works under immediate supervision to provide clerical and/or typing support in performance of variety of office duties which may be simple to moderately complex in nature.

Requirements

• This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.

Responsibilities

• Assists and trains in aseptic recovery of corneas, sclera, skin, bone/connective, and cardiovascular tissue.
• Supports tissue recovery team by: Gathering supplies/equipment, Cleaning recovery site (pre/post), Collecting blood/tissue samples, Performing physical assessments, Preparing donor (shaving/cleansing), Recovering tissues aseptically, Labeling/packaging tissues, Assisting with donor reconstruction, Preparing tissues for shipment.
• Learns to independently recover ocular tissues.
• Cleans, packages, and sterilizes instruments per OR and TSC standards.
• Assists with packaging tissues for shipment per storage needs.
• Ensures complete and accurate documentation.
• Various administrative and clerical assignments filled on an as needed basis.
