This role is responsible for assigned activities within the Accounting Department and communicates and reports to Senior Accountant(s) and Assistant Controller status updates of assigned functions and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 1-4 years of experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Strong technical skills in systems.
  • PC, Windows, Internet proficient and MS Excel, Outlook, and Word skills

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of routine accounting functions: prepares internal and external financial reporting (i.e. National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Form 5300, Annual Report, etc.); analyzes financial data; prepares journal entries; meets various project and reporting deadlines; and works with partners on accounting activity.
  • Performs these activities in compliance with applicable regulatory agencies; and Company accounting policies, procedures, standards, and internal controls.
  • Supports Senior Accountants with accounting changes issued by Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), NCUA, and any other applicable regulating agencies.
  • Performs general ledger account reconciliations and, if applicable, reviews other department reconciliations for completeness, accuracy, and unresolved variances.
  • Updates and, if applicable, creates procedures and/or narratives for assigned tasks. Including, but not limited to background, key controls, system reports, frequency of process, process flows, etc.
  • Provides support on assigned projects by taking notes, performing testing, presenting testing results to project team, and documenting project for Accounting Team reference.
  • Performs ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Senior(s), Assistant Controller, Controller, VP Accounting, SVP Accounting and Finance, and Chief Financial Officer.
