About The Position

This position is a temporary part-time research experience for a post-baccalaureate candidate with prior wet-lab research experience who is interested in deepening their research skillsets in preparation for enrolling in a research-focused doctoral or medical program. This is a Temporary position limited to no more than 12-months. This position is part-time and limited to no more than an average of 30 hours a week in a twelve-month period.

Requirements

BS in biology or related discipline
Prior wet-lab research experience including proficiency in basic techniques such as RNA extraction, tissue dissection, flow cytometry staining and analysis, and at least basic microscopy.

Nice To Haves

Peer-reviewed publications, including at least one first authorship.
Evidence of strong presentation skills (e.g. poster or oral presentation at a recognized extramural conference).
Self-motivated and a critical thinker
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Knowledge of eosinophilic GI diseases
Skilled in intestinal cell isolations
Experience with in vivo models of inflammation

Responsibilities

Literature reviews related to research projects
Experimental design and execution (with support from PI and senior lab members)
Data collection and analysis
Maintaining a detailed lab notebook, experimental notes, and collated data.
Preparation and presentation of data at lab meetings and department-wide venues.
Bench research may include, but is not limited to, transcriptome analyses, histologic stains and analysis, in vivo disease modeling, tissue dissection, and flow cytometric cell analyses.
