About The Position
The Temporary Public Works Technician performs a variety of manual labor and outdoor work assignments in support of Tribal operations. This position is part of a centralized temporary worker pool and is assigned to short-term projects or coverage needs based on operational demand.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum one (1) year of manual labor or outdoor work experience
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and work as part of a team
- Must pass background check and drug/alcohol screening
Nice To Haves
- Experience in construction, maintenance, landscaping, or public works
- Familiarity with hand tools and light equipment
- Experience working in a tribal or government environment
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, loading, and site cleanup
- Assist with maintenance, repair, and improvement projects across Tribal properties
- Operate basic tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Support groundskeeping, landscaping, and facility upkeep activities
- Follow safety procedures and use required protective equipment
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Report issues, hazards, or equipment concerns to supervisors
- Assist with event setup, breakdown, or other labor-related assignments as needed
