About The Position

Quinnipiac University's Office of Marketing and Communications seeks a detail-oriented, highly organized Temporary Production Designer to support high-volume creative production needs during the summer and into September. This role will focus primarily on production and executional design work, with an emphasis on Admissions-related materials, while also supporting other university initiatives as needed. The Temporary Production Designer will report to the Senior Director of Creative Services and Print Production. The ideal candidate is efficient, technically strong, and comfortable working within established brand standards to deliver accurate, print-ready files in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in production design or graphic design (agency or in-house experience preferred)
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating production-focused work (not just conceptual design)
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • Experience with Adobe InCopy for editorial workflow, and proficiency using Adobe Acrobat to review and accept tracked changes in InDesign-linked documents
  • Solid understanding of print production, including file setup, color modes (CMYK/PMS), and prepress best practices
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working within established systems, templates, and brand guidelines
  • Experience working with higher education or Admissions marketing materials
  • Familiarity with templated design systems and versioning workflows
  • Basic knowledge or familiarity with Wrike or comparable project management system
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from varied backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Execute high-volume production design tasks, including edits, updates, resizing, and versioning across print materials and occasional digital assets
  • Prepare print-ready files, ensuring accuracy in color, formatting, and specifications
  • Produce high quality and effective design solutions for various elements including, but not limited to, viewbooks, brochures, banners, flyers, postcards, one-sheeters, and signage
  • Apply and maintain Quinnipiac brand standards consistently across all deliverables
  • Organize and manage working files, assets, and final deliverables according to team standards
  • Collaborate with the creative team and producers to implement feedback and revisions efficiently
  • Assist with overflow production work as priorities shift
