About The Position

Join our ambitious team as a Production Designer, where you will ensure customer-specific buildings move efficiently from concept to manufacturing and then to construction. Here, you’ll experience a highly collaborative environment. This is an onsite, full-time position working four 10-hour shifts (4/10s), Monday–Thursday, from 6:00 AM–4:30 PM. nVent is a leading global provider of electrical connection and protection solutions. Requirements

  • Strong technical competence and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly
  • Strong focus on accuracy and the capacity to handle several drawings and orders simultaneously
  • Willingness to ask questions, learn from mistakes, and continuously improve

Nice To Haves

  • Academic background in structural design or a related field is a plus
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, construction, or industrial environments, preferred
  • Experience using ERP systems, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office tools, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review customer orders and drawings to develop, inspect, and maintain accurate bills of material (BOMs) for each order
  • Redline drawings and update them to match customer and production requirements
  • Review structural builds developed by the structural design team to ensure alignment with the order
  • Design special and custom parts, such as gutters, trims, and other cosmetic components
  • Develop and check special part and production drawings, ensuring flawless execution
  • Set up production part drawings and build instruction sheets for the shop floor
  • Determine part placement within production stations
  • Enter and maintain BOMs and related data within ERP systems
  • Issue and submit drawings for processing and manufacturing
  • Partner closely with production control, sales, construction, and other department leads to resolve issues
  • Identify construction or manufacturing issues and propose solutions, including new or revised parts
