About The Position

Saint Paul College seeks energetic and dedicated individuals to apply for a temporary, part-time Machine Tool Technology/Machinist Instructor position. The college is committed to academic excellence in a rich environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion. With deep roots in career and technical education, along with academic transfer, the College has prepared students for employment or transfer to colleges and universities both locally and nationally. Assignments may include some combination of day, evening, online, Saturday, and/or off-campus classes.

Requirements

  • Two year diploma in machine tool technology/machinist.
  • Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in machine setup, programming, troubleshooting and operation of both manual and CNC equipment.
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field.
  • The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
  • Applicant must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
  • We are unable to provide sponsorship or take over sponsorship of employment visas at our institution.
  • The successful candidate under U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations must be able to accept work in the U.S. by the day employment begins.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom instruction, evaluate and advise students.
  • Develop and/or revise curriculum.
  • Participate in department meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and collegewide events.
  • Maintain technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events.
  • Promote and recruit programs within and outside of the College.
  • Promote diversity and cultural competency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean or Vice President of Academic Affairs.
