About The Position

Under the supervision of the Wolves Den Manager, the laborer is responsible for meal preparation, kitchen and restaurant upkeep, and providing impeccable customer service. The need for this temporary position will be reviewed quarterly. This position will work anywhere from 6-8 hours daily. This is not a guaranteed 40 hours a week; it is as needed.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Able to complete assignments/tasks with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be customer-focused and have a genuine interest in supporting higher education.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with cutting tools, cookware and bakeware, prep work, cooking (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.), and kitchen functions
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background screen
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable

Responsibilities

  • Participates in cooking a wide variety of well-prepared food items
  • Properly operate and clean all food service equipment and machinery
  • Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (weigh, measure, mix, slice, grind, process food, chop, peel, cut meat, etc.)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Accurately collects cash and completes debit or credit card transactions from customers
