About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking applicants for full-time, tenure-track faculty to teach college-level mathematics courses. The successful candidate must be adaptable to a flexible schedule across multiple locations/modalities/times, including in-person classes, and have an understanding of the mission and philosophy of a community college. CSN is a fully accredited institution offering hundreds of degrees and certificates in 70 academic programs. Founded in 1971 and situated in the greater Las Vegas metropolitan area, CSN is the most ethnically diverse college in Nevada and the first to receive the HSI designation. We’ve prioritized providing an affordable, collaborative, and welcoming environment that allows all students to shine. CSN proudly hosts students from all 50 states and over 60 countries with a student population that mirrors Clark County Nevada, one of the most diverse counties in the US. Requirements

  • A master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Any qualifying degree must contain at least 18 credits in graduate-level mathematics and/or statistics courses.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching co-requisite courses, with a focus on liberal arts, business, and STEM pathways, particularly with diverse student populations.
  • A proven ability to leverage technology for teaching math courses in online and remote learning environments.
  • Possess a deep understanding of current issues and trends in college mathematics education, including the emerging challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
  • A proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • A demonstrated commitment to professional development and service, proportional with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and teaching math and/or applied statistics courses.
  • Providing academic advising, maintaining records and evaluating student performance.
  • Participating in college service, including committees, the accreditation process, and program reviews.
  • Actively engaging in professional development opportunities.
  • Contributing to the development of a positive image of the college in the community.
