About The Position

The Geomatics Engineering Department is seeking qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses. These courses cover a range of topics including Engineering Surveying, Municipal Surveying, Route Construction and Surveying, Computer-aided Drafting, Remote Sensing, Stereo Photogrammetry, Digital Mapping, and Subdivision Design. Temporary faculty members are responsible for adhering to university policies, preparing and delivering lectures, conducting office hours, grading assignments and exams, and ensuring classes meet as scheduled in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid). Appointments are contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and subject to the collective bargaining agreement's 'Order of Work' provisions. Appointees must demonstrate eligibility to work in the U.S.; the university does not sponsor temporary faculty for work visas. Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the established salary range for Academic Year Lecturers ($5,507-6,677 per month for full-time teaching with a Master's degree). Starting salaries are typically near the minimum. Actual monthly salary will be adjusted based on the number of Weighted Teaching Units (WTUs) assigned per academic term. The temporary faculty pool is continuously open, with positions filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. This pool is for part-time lecturers, and the number of positions varies each semester. Appointments are temporary and may be made shortly before the academic term begins, requiring applicants to be available to teach on short notice. The pool remains active for two academic terms; reapplication is necessary to remain in the pool beyond that period.
