About The Position

The contract administrator will support the Contracts and Procurement team in drafting, evaluating, negotiating, and executing contracts and amendments for UT System-wide complex and technical procurements. This is a temporary assignment expected to continue until July 9, 2027, located at the UT System building in downtown, Austin, TX. This assignment is benefits-eligible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with major course work in business administration or related field and 3- 5 years of relevant experience.
  • One year of college (30 semester hours) may be substituted for one year of the required experience on a year-for-year basis, with a maximum of 4 years of substituted experience.

  • Criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s).
  • If hired, you will be required to complete the federal Employment Eligibility Verification I-9 form.

  • Documents need to be presented no later than the third day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in preparation, administration, and management of complex solicitations and contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with exposure to document control and/or tracking software.
  • Contract Management Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Working on contract administration to prioritize necessary actions and consistently apply policies and practices.
  • Working with varying sources of information and various stakeholders such as IT, HR, Facilities, and External Relations departments, who need contract assistance.
  • Monitors and controls the flow of work through the procurement and contract systems, working closely with the contracts and procurement team.
  • Assists contract managers and the Assistant Director of the department in determining requirements for the purchase of goods or services.
  • Delivers and develops effective communication via email and meetings with departmental end users/customers.
  • Assists with monitoring transaction compliance (intake Excel spreadsheet, milestones, deliverables, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.
