Maryland Hunger Solutions (MDHS), an initiative of the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC), is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join the staff as a Temporary Anti-Hunger Program Associate - SNAP. This role will substantially focus on outreach, training, and public education regarding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). The Associate will work to increase participation in and the quality of public nutrition programs in Maryland, address related community food security issues, and support vulnerable populations. This is a temporary, full-time position, funded through September 30, 2026, with a possible option to renew. MDHS operates as a fully remote organization, but candidates must reside in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia metro area due to regular local travel requirements for outreach, meetings, and partner engagement. Travel around the state will be required and mileage is reimbursable. While the organization is remote, this role includes in-person responsibilities as core duties. FRAC works to improve the nutrition, health, and well-being of people struggling against poverty-related hunger in the United States through advocacy, partnerships, and by advancing bold and equitable policy solutions. Founded in 2007, Maryland Hunger Solutions works with state and community partners to ensure eligible residents are connected to federal and state nutrition programs, provide education about hunger in Maryland and solutions to reduce food insecurity, and improve public policies to end food insecurity and poverty. MDHS educates the public and policymakers about hunger's extent and impact in Maryland by forging state and local solutions, tracking agency performance, identifying best practices, and engaging partners to ensure federal nutrition programs are accessible.
