About The Position

This role involves managing assigned projects and activities from initiation to close-out. The Temp Project Manager will oversee project delivery from cross-functional and matrix teams, including vendor engagement and management. Responsibilities include supporting the management and planning of all efforts associated with Data projects, such as scope management and development/management of work plans. The role requires defining and delivering individual project deliverables, managing stakeholder expectations, organizing and addressing emerging project requirements, managing project relationships and integrations, and overseeing multiple project teams and vendors. The Temp Project Manager will develop and manage scope through effective expectation setting, communication, change control, budget management, and understanding project needs. They will report project progress, issues, and risks through weekly status reports to IT and Business management teams, and drive detailed execution oversight, status reporting, risk assessment/escalation, budgeting, and resource forecasts. Collaboration with Architecture/Technical teams and systems analysts is expected to assess issue impacts and provide alternative solutions/recovery plans. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to develop, manage, and report on metrics for project achievement.

Requirements

  • Experience managing Hadoop implementations; understanding of concepts and components.
  • 7+ years of technical project management experience implementing systems including multiple, large, cross-functional IT projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Certified Project Management Professional.
  • Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project) experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Collaborative, professional / team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Self-directed, with the capability of managing multiple priorities and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems.

Nice To Haves

  • BI, data warehouse, data mart domain experience is preferable.
