About The Position

The UNM School of Law anticipates hiring qualified temporary part-time Adjunct Faculty to teach and develop specialized legal courses. Openings include subjects such as Criminal Law & Criminal Practice, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Environmental, Natural Resources & Energy Law, Education Law, Business, Tax & Regulatory Law, Immigration & Public Interest Law, Experiential Learning, Clinics & Externships, Legal Research, Writing & Academic Success, Law Review & Scholarly Writing, and Moot Court, Advocacy & Competitions. Positions are contingent upon need each semester, determined by student enrollment, course offerings, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Temporary Part-Time/Adjunct Faculty at the School of Law are compensated based on credit hour course loads.

Requirements

  • JD or equivalent legal degree

Nice To Haves

  • At least 5 years of law practice
  • Prior Experience teaching at the School of Law or another Law School
  • Demonstrated expertise relevant to a curricular need
  • A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
