Temp Parttime Faculty-Honors College

The University of New MexicoAlbuquerque, NM
Onsite

About The Position

The Honors College respectfully requests approval for a non-competitive emergency hire of Sophie Pearson as a Temporary Part-Time Faculty member for the upcoming semester. Dr. Pearson will be teaching UHON 301-008 Introduction to Narrative Medicine and Health Humanities (3 credit hours). This emergency hire is necessary because the course is fully enrolled and scheduled to begin in fewer than 15 days, leaving insufficient time to conduct a standard competitive search without disrupting student schedules. Dr. Pearson developed the curriculum for this Honors College course, ensuring immediate instructional readiness with minimal preparation time. While Dr. Pearson is currently teaching at the Healing Arts department in the College of Arts & Sciences, she has developed this class for the Honors College. The honors college administration was recently advised that a distinct faculty position is required for her to teach this section. Given the imminent start of the term and high student enrollment, prompt review and approval of this emergency appointment is appreciated.
