About The Position

Emergency temporary part-time hire to instruct ECE 534.002 – Plasma Physics I for the Fall 2026 semester. This course serves as an introduction to plasma parameters, adiabatic invariants, orbit theory, plasma oscillations, hydromagnetic waves, plasma transport, stability, kinetic theory, nonlinear effects, and applications of plasma physics. Educational content for course will be distributed through the use of innovative instructional, learner-centered, and activity-based methodologies to ensure optimal student engagement.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with plasma physics and/or applications of plasma physics

Nice To Haves

  • Expert in experimental plasma physics
  • Experience and knowledge in plasma oscillations, hydromagnetic waves, and plasma transport
  • Previous experience in course instruction and student mentoring

Responsibilities
