About The Position

UNM-Taos’ Humanities Department invites applicants living in New Mexico to apply for Temporary Part-time Faculty positions (Adjunct) to teach a lower division course in First Year Experience (FYEX). This position will be hired on an as-needed basis dependent on student enrollment, course offering matrix, and graduation requirements. The specific course for Fall 2026 is FYEX 1110. First-Year Seminar: Introduction to UNM and Higher Education. (3) This course is designed to help students achieve greater success in college and in life. Students will learn many proven strategies for creating greater academic, professional, and personal success. Topics may include career exploration, time management, study and test-taking strategies to adapt to different learning environments, interpersonal relationships, wellness management, financial literacy, and campus and community resources.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in the discipline or an appropriate subfield, or other academic preparation that includes coursework at least one level above the courses being taught.
  • Faculty may also be qualified through a combination of academic credentials, progress toward credentials, or equivalent tested experience, as determined by institutional policy.
  • When the master’s degree is in another discipline, a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline or subfield is typically used to establish qualification.

  • Demonstrated experience in remote delivery of instruction.

Responsibilities
