About The Position

The Community and Regional Planning (CRP) Department anticipates hiring Adjunct Faculty to teach and/or develop upper and lower division courses in Community and Regional Planning for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. Potential subject areas include urban planning, urban design, community planning, regional planning, environmental planning, water resources, the built environment, Indigenous planning, policy studies, economic development, and community development. Adjunct faculty will be responsible for teaching and grading courses within the CRP Department. Positions are contingent upon departmental need each semester, determined by student enrollment, the course offering matrix, and graduation requirements. Openings may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the student drop/add deadline. Selected candidates will report to the CRP Department Chair.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning or a related Master’s degree.
  • Meet Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation requirements for faculty to teach or develop courses in the field or subfield for which applying.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience or related professional experience.
  • A PhD in planning or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Teach and/or develop upper and lower division courses in Community and Regional Planning.
  • Teach and grade courses in the CRP Department.
  • Develop curriculum for courses in the CRP Department.
