The Teller position is responsible for processing night depository, ATM, and Bank-by-mail deposits. They receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, examine checks for proper endorsements, and issue receipts. Tellers also place holds on checks as warranted, cash checks after verifying signatures and balances, and obtain positive identification of the payee. They are responsible for completing Currency Transaction Reports and preparing Suspicious Activity Reports when applicable. Tellers maintain their cash drawer within required limits, explain, promote, and sell bank products or services, and maintain logs for cash sales of Cashier's Checks and travelers checks per Bank Secrecy Act requirements. They accept utility bill and loan payments, process TT&L, EFTPS payments, and cash advances, and place stop payments on checks and drafts. Tellers balance their cash drawer and cash vault daily, accept information for outgoing wire transfers, and assist customers with debit card dispute documentation. They also assist in filing bank records, verify next day new account information and account file maintenance, and open/process mail as required. Additionally, Tellers answer telephone calls, take messages, forward calls, or provide assistance, and cross-train in other areas. They must maintain confidentiality at all times, report to work regularly and promptly, and contribute as a team player.
