About The Position

The Teller role plays a crucial part in providing quality service to our members. With your excellent member service skills and knowledge of credit union policies and procedures, you will ensure that all teller transactions are conducted accurately, professionally, and in a timely manner, making a positive impact on our members' banking experience. This role is located at the Eastside Financial Center. Training will occur at the Tukwila Financial Center for 10 days, followed by training at the Everett Financial Center for the remainder of the 5-week program. All Retail new hires are expected to remain in this role and schedule for a minimum of one year before pursuing other opportunities within BECU. The ability to commute to your assigned branch (Eastside Financial Center), the Tukwila Financial Center, and the Everett Financial Center during training is required. Tellers work varying shifts during our operating hours based on business needs. Flexibility to work any scheduled shift, including up to three Saturdays per month, is a core expectation of the role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or associated Certification (GED).
  • 1 year of customer service or relevant experience.
  • Proficient math skills, with the ability to process account transactions accurately.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to ensure professional handling of member concerns.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member, using discretion and sound judgment.
  • Additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives and goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Teller or cash handling experience.
  • Spanish language fluency highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions.
  • Experience in promoting and selling financial products or services.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to financial transactions.
  • Successful completion of in-house teller training program.
