  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Six months to one-year of related experience and/or training required in the area of cash handling or customer service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly (both written and verbally).
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to use good judgment in making routine and complex decisions.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell products and Services.
  • Ability to accurately handle large sums of cash.
  • Goal-oriented and able to achieve individual goals as well as work as a team player to achieve departmental and/or Bank goals.
  • Flexibility is necessary with the ability to adapt in an ever-changing environment.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs, with an ability to quickly learn other bank-related programs.

  • Cash handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting all bank customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Operating a teller window to process a variety of transactions including deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, and credit card payments.
  • Entering customer transactions into the computer to record them and issuing computer-generated receipts.
  • Assisting customers with account-related questions and placing holds on accounts as appropriate.
  • Ordering daily supply of cash, counting incoming cash, and balancing the cash drawer.
  • Maintaining good customer relations by providing courteous and efficient service.
  • Developing new business by acquainting non-customers with bank services and presenting current customers with additional services.
  • Identifying and responding to cross-sale opportunities by referring customers to the appropriate bank personnel.
  • Recording customer interactions in the bank's CRM platform.
