About The Position
Trustco Bank is hiring a part-time Teller to provide friendly, efficient customer service and support branch operations. The Teller delivers personalized banking experiences while maintaining security, accuracy, and compliance. The role reports directly to the Branch Manager and serves as an ambassador for the bank. The position follows branch operating hours: Monday through Wednesday, 12:30 PM–5:00 PM; Thursday and Friday, 12:30 PM–6:00 PM; and Saturday, 8:30 AM–1:00 PM on a rotating schedule. The branch is closed Sunday. Employees may need to remain 15–30 minutes after closing. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in customer service and cash handling.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within small teams.
- Fluency in English.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.
- Ability to lift 10–20 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities
- Accurately process deposits, check cashing, and withdrawals; verify cash and endorsements; and issue receipts.
- Cross-sell and educate clients about the Bank’s financial products and services.
- Process credit card payments, issue money orders and bank checks, and accept loan payments.
- Manage night deposit bags and admit clients to safe deposit boxes while maintaining confidentiality and security.
- Respond to customer questions, provide account balances, and assist with general banking needs.
- Balance transactions at the end of the day, verify cash totals, and reconcile ATMs.
- Maintain detailed reports and logs to support compliance and accurate record retention.
