About The Position

ELGA Credit Union is seeking a Teller (Member Service Representative) for their Burton branch. The primary role of this position is to build relationships with members by assisting them with their financial transactions and identifying opportunities to meet other financial needs. The Teller will be responsible for handling various financial transactions accurately and efficiently, while also engaging members to understand their needs and cross-selling relevant Credit Union products and services.

Requirements

  • One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Data entry.
  • Ability to handle all transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ability to balance 100% of the time.
  • Ability to analyze errors in written format on the rare occasion a mistake is made.
  • Ability to achieve 100% of daily/weekly/monthly and annual sales goals.
  • Ability to complete and pass Certification1 process.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome members with eye contact and a smile, using their name and thanking them for their business.
  • Receive and process member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, money orders, and cashiers checks.
  • Transfer amounts from member accounts as directed with complete accuracy.
  • Provide routine account information.
  • Interact with members to determine if they would benefit from other Credit Union products and services to cross-sell with integrity.
  • Increase and support utilization of self-service channels.
  • Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks including drop box deposits, filing, copying forms, and computer input.
  • Balance cash drawer and daily transactions.
  • Support other associates and take the initiative to offer help when needed.
