About The Position

Community Trust Credit Union (CTCU) is seeking two full-time Tellers (Member Experience Representative I) with customer service and sales backgrounds for their Lake Villa and Grayslake branches. This role involves assisting members with in-person financial transactions, including cash handling and negotiable instruments, while upholding credit union service standards. The Teller will manage the sales and service of all credit union products, focusing on fostering relationships, enhancing member loyalty, and increasing wallet share. Employees are expected to be available to work at other locations including Gurnee or Grand Hunt Center, with a work schedule from Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings.

Requirements

  • Customer service and sales backgrounds.
  • Available to work at Lake Villa branch, Grayslake branch, Gurnee, or Grand Hunt Center.
  • Available Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm and 8:30am to 1:30pm on Saturdays.
  • Able to communicate effectively via multiple channels (in person, phone, written via email/chat, and video).
  • Ability to provide top-notch service with every member interaction, including the ability to communicate promotions effectively.
  • Previous sales experience and proven success in this environment.
  • One to twelve months of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Ability to navigate/operate a PC in a Windows based system with ease.

Responsibilities

  • Help members with their in-person financial transactions, including handling cash and other negotiable instruments.
  • Deliver service that aligns with credit union standards.
  • Manage the sales and service of all credit union products and services, with an emphasis on fostering relationships, enhancing member loyalty, and increasing wallet share.
  • Accurately handle financial transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments.
  • Issue money orders, redeem savings bonds, and process wire transfer requests.
  • Transfer funds between member accounts as instructed, ensuring adherence to credit union service standards.
  • Balance cash drawer, negotiables, and daily transactions.
  • Deliver outstanding member service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and assisting with financial needs.
  • Open and close savings accounts and certificates of deposit.
  • Manage safe deposit box access.
  • Process check orders and stop payments.
  • Promote and recommend credit union products and services to members.
