About The Position

At R.I.A. Federal Credit Union, a Teller's primary focus is to improve the financial well-being of our members. This is accomplished through building relationships, operating with integrity, and taking action to help members and the community. Tellers are expected to maintain high levels of product/services knowledge to educate members, interact positively with members and the branch team, perform various financial transactions, uncover opportunities to improve members' financial well-being by referring them to appropriate teams, and adhere to compliance, safety, and security regulations. A strong ability to balance and handle cash securely is also important.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and Educate members and prospective members on products and services.
  • Interact with members and prospective members regarding deposit and loan accounts, creating a pleasant experience.
  • Interact with the branch team and be present for meetings and continuing education.
  • Perform banking transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, transfers, and other financial transactions.
  • Assist in branch opening and closing procedures, which may include processing checks, night drops, or stocking supplies.
  • Uncover opportunities to improve members' financial well-being and refer them to the respective teams.
  • Adhere to compliance, safety, and security rules and regulations.
  • Maintain the security of the work area and keep it organized and neat.
  • Balance and handle cash in a safe and secure manner.
