About The Position

This is a 30-hour per week Spanish-speaking Teller position at the SLC Metro Branch. The role involves handling various member transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other financial services. Additionally, tellers perform member services functions such as opening and closing accounts, assisting with account issues, and cross-selling Credit Union products. The position also includes clerical and receptionist duties, requiring prompt and professional member service.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of Credit Union operations.
  • The ability to speak Spanish fluently is required.
  • Customer service or cashiering experience helpful.
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to assist others.
  • Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
  • Solid math skills.
  • Ability to operate related computer applications.
  • Good typing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a variety of paying and receiving functions for members in person, via phone, and through the mail.
  • Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier's checks, traveler's checks, money orders, and cash advances.
  • Balance each day's transactions and verify cash totals.
  • Perform member services functions such as opening and closing accounts, renewing certificates, and assisting members with bookkeeping and checking account problems.
  • Answer member questions regarding Credit Union services.
  • Perform account maintenance.
  • Actively cross-sell Credit Union services.
  • Perform specific assigned side-jobs, including various clerical and receptionist functions.
  • Assist other Service Representatives with duties as required.
  • Serve members promptly and professionally.
  • Represents the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Processes bank by mail transactions.
  • Presents and explains Credit Union services and products to members.
  • Orders checks for members' accounts.
  • Completes payroll deduction and authorization forms.
  • Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers, and reporting results to the inquiring party.
  • Resolves member bookkeeping and checking account problems.
  • Takes stop payment orders.
  • Receives and directs members and telephone calls.
  • Responds to inquiries and questions if possible or directs them as necessary.
  • Records and relays messages.
  • Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed.
  • Keeps members informed of Credit Union services and policies.
  • Maintains and projects the Credit Union's professional reputation.
  • Maintains privacy of member account information.
  • Assists with completing dealer payoffs and with delivery of titles.
  • Assists area personnel as required.
  • Provides guidance to Service Reps and Trainees.
  • Assists with training and orientation as needed.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns.
  • Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly.
  • Attends meetings and gives trainings as required or assigned.
  • Keeps work area clean, well-maintained, and secure.
  • Performs related clerical duties as required.
  • Performs large currency transaction reporting, ATM balancing, and night drop functions as assigned.
