About The Position

The Teller Operations Supervisor is responsible for understanding and complying with regulatory requirements for financial transactions, particularly the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Customer Identification Program (CIP). This role emphasizes superior customer service, building strong customer relationships, and promoting loyalty to Austin Bank. The supervisor will foster a teamwork atmosphere, stay informed about company communications, and develop personal skills through ongoing training. Upholding the organization's values of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality is paramount. The position involves greeting customers, assigning duties and work schedules to tellers, supervising teller personnel, resolving grievances, and training tellers in customer service and banking procedures. Key responsibilities include approving checks, providing guidance on complex transactions, handling customer complaints, examining teller reports for accuracy, reconciling daily cash, managing the supply of money, verifying incoming cash, maintaining teller cash drawers, and allowing customer access to safe deposit boxes. The supervisor will also monitor security procedures, control vault access, issue instructions, standardize teller procedures for efficiency, obtain information and complete Currency Transaction Reports, oversee these reports and Official Checks Logs, and prepare Suspicious Activity Reports. The role also includes serving as a lead teller, processing various deposits (Night Depository, ATM, Bank-by-mail), receiving and verifying deposits, placing holds on checks, cashing checks after verification, explaining and promoting bank products/services, maintaining logs for cash sales, accepting payments, processing payments and cash advances, placing stop payments, assisting with debit card disputes, balancing cash drawers and vault, verifying new account information, accepting information for wire transfers, assisting with filing, opening/processing mail, answering phones, ordering supplies, preparing timecards, maintaining attendance records, cross-training, maintaining confidentiality, reporting to work regularly, and enhancing professional growth.

  • Obtains information and completes Currency Transaction Reports and submits to BSA Officer.
  • Oversees Currency Transaction Reports and Official Checks Logs. Prepares Suspicious Activity Reports when applicable.
  • Serves as a lead teller.

  • Explains, promotes and/or sells bank products or services such as traveler’s checks, savings bonds, money orders and cashier’s checks, etc.
  • Maintains appropriate log of cash sale of Cashier’s Checks and travelers checks per requirements of Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Accepts utility bill and loan payments.
  • Processes TT&L and EFTPS payments and cash advances.
  • Places stop payments on checks and drafts as requested by customer.
  • Assists customers in preparing documentation on debit card disputes.
  • Balances teller cash drawer and cash vault daily.
  • Verifies next day new account information and account file maintenance.
  • Accepts information for outgoing wire transfers.
  • Assists in filing bank records/documentation.
  • Opens/processes mail as required.
  • Answers telephone calls taking messages, forwarding calls and provides assistance to customers.
  • Orders supplies for Tellers/department.
  • Prepares and submits timecard/timesheet information. Maintains attendance records.
  • Cross-trains in other areas.
