About The Position

This role is for a customer service and sales-oriented individual at the Canon City location. Tellers/New Account Representatives are the primary point of contact for customers, responsible for processing transactions accurately, opening and maintaining various personal and business accounts, and delivering exceptional customer service. The position requires expertise in the bank's products and services, adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures, and a commitment to the bank's Core Values. This role is key in promoting the bank's values and building customer relationships.

Requirements

  • A High School Education or GED
  • Up to six months of similar or related experience in cash handling and Customer Service.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately perform a variety of teller transactions including cashing checks, processing withdrawals and deposits, issuing cashier checks, and change orders.
  • Maintain cash drawer limit and properly identify/verify customers.
  • Understand and accurately present bank products and services to customers.
  • Promote High Performance Growth.
  • Assist customers with non-transactional needs/requests and answer incoming calls.
  • Balance teller drawer, cash vault, coin machine, and Teller Cash Recycler (TCR).
  • Open and/or close the branch daily as scheduled.
  • Provide a wide range of customer services related to account management, including opening, closing, and maintaining various business and personal account types (Checking, Savings, Money Market, IRAs, HSAs, CDs, Safe Deposit Boxes).
  • Clearly and thoroughly review all New Account Disclosures with customers.
  • Prepare new or updated account documents, obtain signatures, and scan completed documents.
  • Perform Customer Information File (CIF) and Account Maintenance.
  • Respond to inquiries about FDIC insurance coverage and advise customers on maximizing insured limits.
  • Recommend additional products or services that align with customer needs.
  • Have a basic understanding of E-banking, Cash Management, and Merchant Services.
  • Have a basic understanding of loan products and their servicing.
  • Complete Position Development Plans (PDP) milestones.
  • Demonstrate understanding of clean desk policy, customer confidentiality, and workstation security.
  • Know and demonstrate dual control procedures.
  • Read and understand account and customer alert messages.
  • Be vigilant for fraud.
  • Adhere to Bank of the San Juans Company Core Values.
  • Adhere to all applicable banking regulations, laws, company policies, management directives, security, and operational procedures.
  • Complete all required Compliance and Security training on time.
  • Adhere to Bank Security Policy and report security risks.
  • Keep management informed of area activities and problems.
  • Support the bank’s mission by participating in Community Service and Bank sponsored activities.
  • Represent the bank professionally, maintaining a professional image, upholding confidentiality, demonstrating a positive attitude, and being flexible and adaptable.
  • Maintain regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Attend and actively participate in required meetings.
  • Provide exceptional internal and external customer service.
  • Perform additional duties as requested or assigned.
