The Teller II has the responsibility to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position. This role serves customers quickly, accurately, efficiently, and confidentially according to the SouthState Bank Service Standards. The Teller II must know and understand the products and services offered by the Bank, including their facts, features, benefits, advantages, rules, regulations, and price structure. They should be able to identify customer needs and expectations by listening for clues and seek opportunities to expand customer relationships by making referrals. A neat and professional personal appearance is required, and the Teller II must assess and effectively manage all risks associated with their job function, ensuring compliance with banking regulations like Regulation CC and Bank Secrecy Act. Additionally, they need to develop a strong understanding of customer-facing technology and be able to discuss and enroll customers in self-service options. Specific teller duties include processing transactions for savings, checking, and loan accounts, maintaining a neat work area, assisting in guiding and training new tellers, allowing customers access to safe deposit boxes, cashing checks and processing savings withdrawals within assigned limits, selling certified checks, and balancing transactions daily. Other potential duties include servicing/balancing the ATM, utilizing the branch capture system, and following all policies and procedures for transactions, minimizing errors, and maintaining workflow. The Teller II must also know and follow branch security and audit procedures and understand the function and operation of security devices. This role requires more than 18 months of experience and demonstrated expertise in the Teller I job function, along with a willingness and ability to perform Teller II duties. Additional responsibilities may include vault or back-up vault responsibilities.
