About The Position

TMG Global is seeking a Contract Telephony Deployment Technician to join their team. This role involves deploying and validating telephony equipment across multiple customer locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in information technology and hands-on experience with telephony systems, phone hardware deployment, and technical troubleshooting. This is a 1099 contractor role requiring on-site attendance and travel to various sites across North Carolina. The position involves afternoon and after-hours shifts, with exact times subject to project coordination. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, and equipment. TMG Global also conducts background checks on all final candidates.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in telephony, end-user device deployment, or related IT field work.
  • Ability to install and connect handsets using the existing data drop infrastructure.
  • Experience with testing, validating, and staging telephony equipment per client direction.
  • Strong attention to detail for multi-site coordination and deployment tracking.
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to multiple sites across North Carolina.
  • Must be available for afternoon and after-hours shifts.
  • Experience with technical documentation (EXCEL), IT inventory management, and data port tracking.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work safely in a warehouse/IDF environment.
  • On-site attendance is required.
  • Must utilize TMG Global's timekeeping system, which features a GEO-tagged clock-in and clock-out function.
  • Must undergo a background check if selected as a final candidate.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Previous telephony experience strongly recommended.
  • VoIP or Zoom Phone experience a plus.
  • Additional certifications or experience in VoIP, unified communications, or Zoom Phone platforms are advantageous.
