Position Purpose: The Telephone Operator monitors all incoming and outgoing telecommunications activities regarding hospital wide communication efforts.

Requirements

Education: High school graduate or equivalent
Experience: One to two years of medical office experience preferred
Experience answering multiline telephone system preferred
Basic computer skills required

Responsibilities

Handles incoming calls and paging requests connecting parties if possible and /or providing information as requested.
Answers priority calls promptly, determines the nature of the emergency and accurately executes procedures contained in hospital and department manuals.
