About The Position

Regency Hospital - Upstate is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Telemetry Technician helps provide compassionate care by continuously observing assigned monitors, recognizing rhythms and artifacts, and responding appropriately to alarms. This is a per-diem/PRN position in Anderson, South Carolina, with 12-hour night shifts and compensation of $23.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Complete and pass the EKG class for Monitor Techs and required competencies on the education platform within 30 days of the position start date.
• Pass other tests and competencies as required by Select Medical.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Licensed Paramedic, or RN nursing student with EKG training. LPNs are limited to working as telemetry tech only.

Responsibilities

• Continuously watch assigned monitors and ensure appropriate, timely responses to alarms.
• Verify identification of basic rhythms, lethal rhythms, and artifact; maintain EKG monitor alarms and respond to alarms as needed.
• Complete EKG interpretations, including rate, regularity, PRI, QRS, QTI, QTc, ST segment, waveform alterations, and rhythm interpretation.
• Ensure strip interpretations are validated by an RN.
