About The Position

Under supervision, the Monitor Technician (MT) is responsible for cardiac and oximetry monitor surveillance for monitored and telemetry patients. The role involves reporting rhythm changes and potentially lethal rhythms to a Registered Nurse following outlined workflows. The technician will interact directly with physicians regarding the interpretation of cardiac rhythm patterns or changes in patterns. A key aspect of the role is maintaining a safe, hazard-free, and clean environment that facilitates quality patient-focused care. Requirements

  • Coursework/Training and Verification of completion of basic EKG cardiac rhythm recognition course required with-in six(6) months of hire
  • 6 months of experience working in a healthcare or institutional setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework/Training and Medical terminology course
  • Coursework/Training and Verification of advanced cardiac rhythm recognition course
  • 6 months of experience monitoring ECGs in an area that has the capability to monitor at least 16 patients
