About The Position

SOVAH Health - Danville is seeking a Telemetry Technician to perform telemetry monitoring under the supervision of an RN. The role involves continual surveillance of multiple monitors, identifying significant arrhythmias and signs of patient distress, correcting artifacts, and communicating abnormal findings or changes in patients' conditions to nursing staff. The technician also tests equipment and reports problems to a supervisor. This is a PRN, in-person position in Danville, Virginia, with various shifts and an hourly pay range of $14.41–$17.79.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Handled with Care (HWC) certification within 6 months of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

• EMT, LPN, or Telemetry certification.
• Previous work experience as an EMT or Certified Technician.

Responsibilities

• Perform continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
• Identify significant arrhythmias and signs of patient distress and intervene appropriately.
• Identify and correct artifacts.
• Report abnormal assessment and telemetry findings, or changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions, to nursing staff.
• Test equipment to ensure it is working properly.
• Report equipment problems to a supervisor.
