About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our new Medical Oncology unit. The unit will primarily care for patients undergoing treatment for various medical conditions while also managing surgical overflow patients. This role involves working with a diverse patient population requiring specialized care.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience required.
- BLS certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Bio/Chemotherapy certification preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Medical Oncology unit.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, including telemetric readings.
- Administer medications and titrate drips as necessary, including Comfort Care gtts, limited Heparin, and Cardizem gtts.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families regarding their diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Utilize the EPIC charting system for effective documentation.
