About The Position

Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team. The role involves providing high-quality patient care in our Heart Failure / Stroke Unit, which specializes in managing patients with neurological and cardiac conditions. Unit Information The Heart Failure / Stroke Unit comprises 42 beds, where nursing staff care for patients with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure and acute stroke. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, allowing for focused and personalized care. Our team is committed to clinical excellence, working collaboratively with cardiologists and neurologists to maintain the highest standards of practice. The Heart Failure / Stroke Unit is dedicated to patient-centered care, ensuring our team is equipped with the skills and knowledge to manage complex health conditions effectively and compassionately.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) is required.
  • At least 1 year of recent experience in the specialty of Med Surg/Tele nursing.
  • Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
  • A valid AL or Compact nursing license is required; temporary licenses are not accepted.
  • Candidates must pass a Dysrhythmia Basic exam during the onboarding process; failure to pass within two attempts may result in contract cancellation.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of nursing experience is preferred; however, candidates with 18 months of experience may be considered, provided they have substantial experience working under their professional license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on the Heart Failure / Stroke Unit.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop care plans based on individual patient needs.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and health management.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.

Benefits

  • Orientation is included, with a total of 16 hours of non-billable time.
  • Overtime is applicable after 48 hours, regardless of whether the schedule consists of 36 or 48 hours per week.
