About The Position

Sentara Health is seeking a part-time, day shift Monitor Tech for Telemetry Monitor Surveillance at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA. The role involves observing, recognizing, interpreting, and documenting EKG tracings on telemetry-monitored patients to detect deviations from the patient's norm. The technician will promptly notify appropriate personnel of dysrhythmias, operate and utilize the monitoring system to its full capacity, and ensure the proper and safe functioning of the telemetry equipment. The position is part-time, with 24 hours per week, and requires availability to work between 7 am and 7 pm.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and completion of a monitor technician surveillance program/course OR High School Diploma and 1 year experience in monitor technician surveillance within the last 5 years.
  • Candidates who have not completed a monitor technician surveillance program must complete a certificate program within 90 days of hire.
  • Must successfully complete the Sentara Basic Arrhythmia competency tool, including passing a basic arrhythmia exam, to be released from new employee orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience in monitor technician surveillance/EKG monitoring within the last 5 years may be accepted in lieu of a monitor tech surveillance program/course.
