About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Telemetry Maintenance Technician – Ascension Island to support the Space Force Range contract. This role is responsible for operating, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing equipment associated with a Telemetry Ground Station. This includes measurement/tracking, multiplexing, amplification, signal conditioning, multicouplers, acquisition, RF transmitters/receivers, PCM encoders/decoders, and parabolic antenna systems. The technician will also provide technical support for computer hardware, software, networking, and maintenance for site telemetry systems. Integration of hardware and software applications for operational and maintenance purposes, performing routine launch operational checks, and generating/preparing test documentation are also key aspects of the role. The position requires maintaining records, maintenance logs, and schedules, interpreting audits, identifying maintenance issues, and collaborating with management on solutions. A strong commitment to company safety culture and safe work practices is essential. Additionally, the role involves completing assigned training, assisting with training others, and developing/maintaining procedures and work instructions in accordance with PWS and CDRL requirements.

Requirements

  • AS Degree in Electronic Technology, or two-year technical school, equivalent military experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years as an electronic technician with experience related to the systems, subsystems and operations required to maintain Telemetry (preferred), Radar, or Radio Communication systems.
  • Electronics background and knowledge of network/server operating systems and PC platforms.
  • Experience using electrical/electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and logic analyzers.
  • Experience with troubleshooting including the ability to isolate and repair electronic hardware and associated support equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Frequently move, transport, install and position equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently ascend/descend, and traverses, work areas at heights of approximately 20 feet or more.
  • Ability to drive manual transmission.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
  • Valid U.S. Passport or ability to obtain one within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with high-powered transmitters, radio-frequency/infrared (RF/IF) receivers, microwave subsystems and control systems.
  • Experience working with large scale antenna servo tracking mount technology.
  • Understanding of telemetry principles and practices.
  • Experience working with property control, logistics and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Support company safety culture and assumes accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all activities.
  • Complete assigned training and assist with the training of others to ensure optimal availability of qualified personnel for daily operations, maintenance, and launch support.
  • Develop and maintain procedures and work instructions in accordance with applicable Performance Work Statement (PWS) and CDRL requirements.
