About The Position

The Maintenance Technician role at Oak Island Accommodations is responsible for ensuring that owner and tenant needs are met and that properties are well-maintained. This involves performing basic home repairs on a daily basis, including troubleshooting, plumbing, carpentry, lock repair, HVAC, pool maintenance, drywall repair, and appliance and electrical work. The technician will also assist Property Managers, owners, and guests as needed, and is responsible for recording and submitting completed work orders to the lead maintenance technician at the end of each workday, ensuring proper notations are made, especially for any follow-up required. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Obeys all applicable Federal laws, rules, and regulations relating to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).
  • Able to keep an accurate inventory of work vehicle/stock.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word via email and verbally.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force.
  • Use your arms and legs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, carrying, bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting.
  • Have close visual acuity to perform activities such as analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and preparing documentation.
  • Subject to internal and external environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Work to ensure owners and tenants needs are met and homes are maintained.
  • Perform basic home repairs on a daily basis (i.e. troubleshooting, basic plumbing, carpentry, locks, HVAC, pool, dry wall repair, appliances, electrical, etc).
  • Assist Property Managers, owners and guests as needed.
  • Record and remit completed work orders to the lead maintenance technician at the end of each work day.
  • Make proper notations on all work orders, particularly if additional follow up is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
