A Telematics System Specialist provides problem-solving skills and is responsible for assisting in project management, implementation, and advancement maintenance of telematics solutions, including supporting mobile devices, SAAS-provided solutions, and general troubleshooting. This role works to improve the technology that connects fleet and field operations, supports users, improves data quality, and connects fleet information with business systems, including Command Series, APEX, Fuel Master, HCSS, and telematics platforms such as Samsara and TrackIT. The position works closely with internal customers and the IT team to formulate solutions that meet internal customer needs.

Requirements

Requires knowledge of business systems and processes at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, management information systems or related field knowledge.
Two to four years of experience in software package configuration, installation, integration and maintenance.
Two to four years of experience in general workstation troubleshooting and/or back end technology support
Good interpersonal and communications skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks and conform to timelines for successful application implementation.
Ability to identify problems, in a timely manner, for systems utilized by a diverse customer/user base.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with internal and external customers.
Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality of all company information.

Nice To Haves

Experience configuring and supporting SAAS Applications
Knowledgeable of relational data structure and reporting capabilities.
Knowledge of telematics and the data surrounding the fleet.
Knowledge of mobile device management and maintenance including hardware and software.
Knowledge of how to integrate different software packages together.

Responsibilities

Assist in implementations of telematics solutions and the integration to our POS and ERP systems.
Provide usage statistics to field and management operations on the effectiveness of the telematics solution.
Maintain aforementioned software with proper patches, version upgrades and modules following corporate policies and procedures.
Provide specialized application and technical support to Line of Business.
Ensure all enhancements and feature releases have been fully tested and documented following corporate policies and procedures.
Produce and maintain documentation on all systems to help analyze and continually improve processes.
Responsible for identification and integration of data security measures.
Travel to subsidiary companies for application implementations and support will be required.
Available to assist with scheduled on-call support and technical emergencies as required.
Maintain, design, and work with the KRC IT Team to provide a stable environment for these applications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
