The Telehealth Patient Coordinator is responsible for ensuring patients are available and connected for scheduled telehealth visits. This role serves as the primary liaison between patients and telehealth providers by locating patients, coordinating access to telehealth visits, assisting with basic technology setup, and supporting efficient telehealth operations. The Telehealth Patient Coordinator does not provide clinical care but plays a vital role in ensuring patients have timely access to behavioral health services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Comfortable using tablets, mobile devices, and video conferencing platforms.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Excellent customer service and patient engagement skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with clinical teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for basic technology issues.
  • Ability to interact professionally with patients experiencing behavioral health conditions.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.

  • Previous experience in healthcare, behavioral health, patient services, or customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Locate patients throughout the facility for scheduled telehealth visits.
  • Escort or direct patients to a private and appropriate location for their telehealth visit, when necessary.
  • Deliver, collect, and maintain telehealth tablets and related equipment.
  • Prepare devices by logging into the telehealth platform and connecting patients with their assigned telehealth provider.
  • Verify audio, video, and internet connectivity before each telehealth visit begins.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting for tablets and connectivity issues during telehealth visits.
  • Ensure tablets are cleaned, charged, updated, and ready for use.
  • Notify clinical staff of patient refusals, delays, technology issues, or other concerns that may impact telehealth visits.
  • Coordinate patient flow to help telehealth visits begin on time and minimize delays.
  • Protect patient privacy by adhering to HIPAA and facility confidentiality standards.
  • Build positive rapport with patients while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of telehealth operations.
