About The Position

ComPsych is hiring a remote, full-time Telehealth Counselor licensed in Texas to provide brief, solution-focused counseling by telephone and/or video. The counselor assesses clients’ presenting issues, develops treatment plans aimed at resolving identified concerns, and facilitates referrals to long-term treatment or community resources when clinically appropriate. The role maintains a full-time daily appointment caseload, documents client contacts in ComPsych’s system, and keeps professional knowledge current through review of telehealth counseling trends, treatment modalities, and evidence-based interventions. The position requires independent clinical judgment, strong communication and customer-service skills, and the ability to work flexibly to meet client needs. The salary range is $60,000–$68,000, with actual compensation influenced by factors including experience, education, geography, and scheduled hours.

Requirements

At least 3 years of clinical counseling experience.
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology.
Independent clinical license in Texas.
Experience providing direct clinical services and solution-focused therapy.
Knowledge of treatment issues and EAP services.
Exceptional communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service and sound clinical judgment.
Quick thinking, high energy, a positive and professional approach, and demonstrated multitasking and critical-thinking skills.
High-speed internet and a workspace free from distraction, disruption, or noise.
Ability to be on camera for work-related trainings, meetings, and/or events.
Ability to sit or stand at a desk for prolonged periods while working on a computer.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ presenting issues, establish treatment plans, and facilitate referrals to long-term treatment or community resources when clinically appropriate.
Maintain a full-time caseload of appointments each day.
Use brief, solution-focused interventions to address clients’ presenting issues.
Ensure the safety of clients who present a risk of harming themselves or others.
Refer clients to long-term treatment when clinically appropriate, using their benefit plan and/or community resources.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of all client contacts in the ComPsych system according to established procedures and processes.
Strengthen professional knowledge by reviewing telehealth counseling trends, effective treatment modalities, and evidence-based interventions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
