About The Position

Adjuvant seeks an empathetic, experienced mental health professional to support cancer patients, their families, and caregivers. Guided by the clinic’s mission, the therapist facilitates hope and change for clients affected by cancer. This is a fully remote position. The therapist accepts referrals and maintains a client load of at least 18 hours per week. Compensation is $60–$62 per hour.

Requirements

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Two years of professional-level experience in a counselor setting.
Current and active license to practice behavioral health in Texas.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of healthcare experience with oncology.
One year of experience in telehealth settings.

Responsibilities

Counsel clients or patients individually and/or in family sessions to help them overcome dependencies, adjust to life, or make changes.
Make internal referrals to IOP if there is little to no improvement after eight weeks of outpatient therapy.
Guide clients in developing skills or strategies to address their problems.
Develop treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge, establish SMART goals with patients, and develop plans within 72 hours of intake; update or modify them every four weeks.
Complete and maintain client-related paperwork, including diagnostic records and progress notes; complete progress notes within 48 hours of each session.
Prepare and maintain required treatment records and reports.
Evaluate clients’ physical or mental condition based on a review of client information.
Collaborate with staff on clinical assessments or treatment plans within two days of establishing care with an existing patient.
Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or specialists as necessary.
Keep current with developments in counseling through professional literature, courses, seminars, or contact with other social service agencies.
