About The Position

This role involves fundraising on behalf of the AMERICAN CIVIL LIBERTIES UNION (ACLU). The position is for passionate advocates to help protect the rights and liberties of people across America. It's an opportunity to earn extra money for the holidays while making a difference. The job requires articulate, professional, and passionate callers to join a successful fundraising campaign. Previous advocacy/nonprofit fundraising experience is a plus, but training will be provided for the right candidate. The role involves inspiring previous ACLU supporters to continue their fight for justice, equality, and freedom. This is not a cold-calling position, as callers will reach out to individuals who already believe in the mission and have supported the ACLU before. A script and contact list will be provided. The ACLU is a nonpartisan civil liberties organization that defends constitutional rights for all Americans.

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable about current events and civil liberties issues.
  • Successful sales and/or fundraising background.
  • Ability to close and make money.
  • Computer savvy with proficiency on multiple software/platforms.
  • Ability to follow directions and convincingly read from a script.
  • High-quality customer service attitude.
  • Must have computer or laptop with headset or headphones and good internet connection.
  • Persistent, diligent work ethic; self-motivated while being a team player.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be working from one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, or Illinois.

Responsibilities

  • Fundraise on behalf of the ACLU.
  • Inspire previous ACLU supporters to continue their fight for justice, equality, and freedom.
  • Reach out to people who already believe in the mission and have supported the ACLU before.
  • Convincingly read from a script.
  • Provide high-quality customer service.
  • Work a minimum of 16 hours per week (4 full shifts).
