Ability to efficiently operate complex computer programs and networking functions, telephone equipment, radios, recording devices, E9-1-1 system, weather systems and other technical equipment.
Ability to learn communications codes and signals.
Ability to report to work on time and perform duties on a timely fashion.
Ability to make decisions in accordance with established procedures and policies.
Ability to understand meanings of words and ideas associated with them and to use them effectively.
Must pass a thorough criminal background check due to the sensitivity of the information handled by this position.

Responsibilities

Respond to all incoming emergency and non-emergency calls through telephone and the E9-1-1 system.
Answer forwarded lines from Public Utilities and Public Works after hours.
Address citizens' requests and coordinate with necessary crews to provide timely assistance.
Maintain constant radio communication with emergency service personnel.
Uphold accuracy and confidentiality by maintaining police reports and documenting major offenses and property thefts.
Conduct specialized data entry into secured computerized frameworks.
