About The Position

Teen REACH Teaching Assistant Kenneth Young Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit dedicated to providing comprehensive outpatient behavioral health services to individuals of all walks of life. Located in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, we offer a wide range of services including outpatient therapeutic care, recovery-oriented support, community prevention, LGBTQ+ outreach, older adult services, and crisis intervention. Requirements

  • 18 years and older
  • Familiarity with typical electronic office equipment including networked printers and file storage equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish- or Polish-speaking preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the wellbeing and safety of youth at all times.
  • Implement lesson plans and maintain daily classroom schedules
  • Support each youth’s social, emotional, and intellectual growth/development through lessons plans and interactions
  • Using a variety of instructional and assessment strategies to meet individual youth needs
  • Assisting youth with assignments or difficult concepts
  • Maintaining weekly communication with parents, staff, and faculty regarding the progress of students.
  • Transport participants when needed in a KYC owned or rented vehicle.
  • Tracking attendance of the students and other clerical duties in connection with lesson plans and programming.
  • Provide nutritional snacks in accordance with relevant local and state health standards for food preparation and handling and meet the standards of the National Afterschool Association
